Adam Yates, who started his cycling career with Eastlands Velo before moving on to Sportcity Velo has just won the Tour of Turkey in his first year as a professional cyclist.  Adam took the lead on Stage 6 from Rein Taaramae and held it to the finish, where he finished five seconds up on Rein.  This is a fantastic result for one of 'our own' and we are very proud of Adam and his achievment.  Very well done Adam!

Adam and his twin brother Simon were a familiar sight at Eastlands sessions and local track leagues for several years, with Adam wearing 'trade mark' red helmet and mits, whilst Simon always wore blue.  Unfortunately Simon, who was also riding in the Tour of Turkey crashed on Stage 2 and suffered a fractured collar bone.  We wish Simon a speedy recovery.

The final stage was won by another familiar face, fellow British rider Mark Cavendish, but the biggest congratulations must go to Adam!
